Partial dynamical symmetry in Bose-Fermi systems

    Get PDF
We generalize the notion of partial dynamical symmetry (PDS) to a system of interacting bosons and fermions. In a PDS, selected states of the Hamiltonian are solvable and preserve the symmetry exactly, while other states are mixed. As a first example of such novel symmetry construction, spectral features of the odd-mass nucleus 195^{195}Pt are analyzed.Comment: 5 pages, 1 figure, 2 tables, accepted for publication in Physical Review C (Rapid Communications

Quantum phase transitions in rotating nuclei

We extend the classical Landau theory for rotating nuclei and show that the backbending in 162Yb, that comes about as a result of the two-quasiparticle alignment, is identified with the second order phase transition. We found that the backbending in 156Dy, caused by the instability of Îł\gamma-vibrations in the rotating frame, corresponds to the first order phase transition.Comment: 4 pages, 2 figure

Singular Character of Critical Points in Nuclei

The concept of critical points in nuclear phase transitional regions is discussed from the standpoints of Q-invariants, simple observables and wave function entropy. It is shown that these critical points very closely coincide with the turning points of the discussed quantities, establishing the singular character of these points in nuclear phase transition regions between vibrational and rotational nuclei, with a finite number of particles.Comment: 12 pages, 7 figures, elsart, revised version, considerable changes and addition

Listening to Children: Perceptions of Nature and Biophilia at Mountain School

    Get PDF
This exploratory study investigates children’s perceptions and experiences of nature during a residential outdoor environmental education program and contributes to an understanding of how nature experiences arouse biophilia, a love of life and all living things. How can we promote a responsible attitude and caring view of the earth and its inhabitants among young people? Limited research suggests that contact with the natural world, especially during middle childhood, occupies a surprisingly important place in a child’s emotional responsiveness and receptivity

This exploratory study investigates children’s perceptions and experiences of nature during a residential outdoor environmental education program and contributes to an understanding of how nature experiences arouse biophilia, a love of life and all living things. Using interviews, naturalistic observation, and artifact collection, we studied children’s responses to nature during and following their participation in a residential environmental education program known as Mountain School. We explored how an examination of biophilic sensibilities can help researchers and educators focus on the vital intersection between the individual, environment, and action. Our study suggests that children’s perceptions of nature are varied and dependent on prior experiences. Our study indicates that after spending time in the wilderness program at Mountain School, children’s perceptions of nature changed. Children formed connections with the fauna and flora of the North Cascades. Our use of biophilia as a framework for inquiry demands that we consider what it means to include the larger biotic community in our discussion of educational reform. This research contributes to an evolving understanding of the relationship between people and the natural world

A shell-model study of the light Cd isotopes

In an attempt to describe the excitation spectra and transitions strengths of light even-even Cd-isotopes (A = 98 - 108), large-scale shell-model calculations in the proton (2p(1/2), 1g(9/2)) and the neutron (2d(5/2), 1g(7/2), 2d(3/2), 3s(1/2), 1h(11/2)) model space were performed. Preliminary results are presented and discussed

Boson-fermion mapping and dynamical supersymmetry in fermion models

    Get PDF
We show that a dynamical supersymmetry can appear in a purely fermionic system. This ``supersymmetry without bosons" is constructed by application of a recently introduced boson-fermion Dyson mapping from a fermion space to a space comprised of collective bosons and ideal fermions. In some algebraic fermion models of nuclear structure, particular Hamiltonians may lead to collective spectra of even and odd nuclei that can be unified using the dynamical supersymmetry concept with Pauli correlations exactly taken into account.Comment: 20 pages. : Antenatal care is the health service carried out by health workers to the mother during her pregnancy antenatal service standard compliance. Utilization of antenatal care services by a number of pregnant women in Indonesia has not fully in accordance with the guidelines set out. The lack of utilization of antenatal care by pregnant women is associated with many factors. One of them is the knowledge of pregnant women. The purpose of this research is to know the relation of knowledge of pregnant women with antenatal care in checking the regularity of the Clinics Shoulder Subdistrict Malalayang Manado. This research conducted by method of cross sectional, the selection of samples with a total sampling. 30 sample respondents. Data collection is carried out by filling a questionnaire made by researchers and is completed by respondents.Collected data is processed further using the computer program SPSS version aid 20 for analysis by chi-square test with significance level (α) 0.05. Research results show that knowledge with a good category 76,7% (23 people) and less well 23,3% (7 people). To order checks antenatal care regular category 53,3% (16 people) and irregular 46,7% (14 people). Conclusions in this study is the relationship between knowledge of pregnant women with antenatal care checkups regularity

: Nutritional status is a body condition as food consumption consequence and using of nutrient substances which can be different by malnutrition, under nutrition and nutrition good. (Almatsier. 2009). Nutritional diet for pregnant women optimally programmed during pregnancy in order to reach adequate nutritional status until give brith a baby with good potential physically and mentally. Vitamin and mineral are nutrient subtance wich are very important during pregnancy. According to Dewi (2013) deficiency of mineral including zinc causes anaemia (Hb < 11 gr%). Objective : This research ait to find out relationship between nutritional status with Anaemia of Pregnat women in Community Health Center Territorial Job of Tuminting District of Tuminting Manado City”. Metods : This research metods was case control design with purposive sampling. There were 116 respondent devided into 58 respondents are case and 58 respondents are control. Result : Non anemia prevalence with nutrional status non CED risk are 38 cases (32.8%) and with CED risk are 20 cases (17.2%). Anemia prevalence of pregnat women with status nutrional non CED risk are 22 cases (19,0%) and CED risk are 36 cases (31.0%). Chi squre statistic test result P = 0.005 (P < 0.05). OR = 3.109 wich means pregnant women with CED risk 3 times as much at risk of aneamia than who doesn\u27t. Conclusion : There was relathionship between nutritional status with Anaemia of Pregnat women in Community Health Center Territorial Job of Tuminting District of Tuminting Manado Cit
